Six-Day Sit-At-Home Order In S/East, Must Not Be Obeyed –IPOB
THE Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has disssociate and also condemned a five-day sit-at-home order signed and issued by unknown people through social media which has been trending since Monday, December 5.
The group described the order for South East residents to stay indoors on the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th of December 2022 as wicked and mindless, and while dissociating itself from the order asked that such order must not be obeyed.
In a statement signed by it Media and Publicity Secretary of the group, Emma Powerful, IPOB asked residents in the South East to ignore the order which, it said, came from “untrained and brainless individuals whose agenda is to make Biafra agitation unattractive to our people.’’
The group, however, said that every Biafran must go to their normal business on those days.”
The statement read, “IPOB which is concerned about our people cannot issue such brainless uncaring 5-day consecutive sit- at -home order to suffer our people during this critical time of the year when people are trying to make up in their businesses for the year.
“The conception of consecutive 5-day sit at home by a Nigeria Agent and his sponsors is to show the level of wickedness and hatred they have against our people. Their agenda is to create insecurity and unnecessary hardships to make our people jettison Biafra’s freedom. How wicked!”, the group said.
The group, in the statement, argued that everyone has his or her right to go and collect his or her PVC from their Polling and registration centre without molestations, emphasising that “IPOB never boycotted the election and has nothing to do with Nigeria’s shambolic elections”.
The IPOB urged the people to confront any person who dares to enforce the sit-at-home and promised that Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives and IPOB volunteers will be out on these dates to protect the people and the markets.
