Qatar’s famous Stadium 974 is undergoing dismantling by workers with all the scheduled Qatar World Cup matches being concluded at the stadium. The stadium which was based on a temporary nature was built with repurposed shipping containers. A total of 974 containers were used which also happens to be the calling code of Qatar.

FIFA World Cup: Stadium 974 Dismantled – Qatar’s famous Stadium 974 is undergoing dismantling by workers with all the scheduled Qatar World Cup matches being concluded at the stadium. The stadium which was based on a temporary nature was built with repurposed shipping containers. A total of 974 containers were used which also happens to be the calling code of Qatar.

The stadium had 40000 seats, is getting dismantled, and will now be transported to Uruguay. The South American country is preparing itself after being hopeful of hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup. It is reported, that the containers will be transported to Uruguay before the Stadium gets constructed again. Stadium 974 was primarily built in Qatar for hosting the Qatar World Cup in 2022. A total of 13 games were held in the Temporary stadium. Since its inauguration in November 2021. Six matches of the Arab Cup were held along with 7 matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Apart from the group stage matches, the Stadium also hosted a pre-quarters match where Brazil defeated South Korea 4-1.

After the conclusion of the Brazil game, the constructors started their job of dismantling the stadium. Once the entire stadium gets dissembled, the containers will be transported to the other part of the world.

Uruguay is extremely hopeful that it can win the bidding rights to host the FIFA World Cup in 2030. It would also mark 100 years since the inauguration of this footballing extravaganza. Apart from Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay, and Chile are also preparing for a joint bid to host the World Cup.
