Police probe assassination of Oyo bizman

A 57-year-old man, Oladeji Babalola, has been assassinated in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Babalola, popularly known as Chicago, was killed at the Agbariko area, Jemibewon Road, Ibadan North West Local Government Area of the state.

He was said to be selling sport wears at the Adamasingba Sports Complex.

City Round gathered that Babalola was in a shop when someone called him on the phone for business.

“So, he left immediately, but unfortunately for him, two guys were trailing him on a bike (motorcycle). They rode close to him and shot him dead. They shot him in the head and another part,” an eyewitness said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident, adding that the command had commenced investigation into it.

“Investigation has commenced to demystify the circumstances surrounding the incident. Updates would be communicated, please,” he added.
